Anurag Thakur, BJP MP & BCCI Chief Joins Territorial Army
The well known BJP MP and President of BCCI Anurag Thakur, is all geared up to become an officer of Territorial Army.
On Friday the 41-year-old Thakur will be commissioned as regular officer of Territorial Army. He will be the 1st serving BJP Member who will be joining the military force. He cleared the written examination followed by personal interview which was conducted in Chandigarh. The training took place in Bhopal.
He currently serves as Lok Sabha member from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. TA is the second line of defense having value after regular army. It basically comprises of volunteers who obtain the military training for roughly one month in a year. There services are used for defense of country during time of emergency in order to safeguard the nation. TA is meant for civilian professionals but it is not an occupation or a full time profession.
Thakur is exalted at the fact that he will be wearing the uniform. He considers it dream come true. His grandfather was an army man and from very beginning he was keen to join the same.
