Summers bring in the plethora of colours and trends and if you are ready for a shopping spree, here is a complete guide to colours and fashion trends of the spring/summer season 2020, straight from the fashion capitals around the globe.

Let us get our basics right and discuss the colours of the season.

Pantone Color Institute summed up the S/S 20 colour trends as ‘friendly and relatable’ in that they depict a sense of ease. Spring 2020’s color palette “infuses heritage and tradition with a colourful youthful update that creates strong multi-coloured combinations as well as energising and optimistic pairings” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Institute.

From the hot fierce reds, the subtle sides of green, muted whites, saffrons to the ever cool faded denim blue, we are opening doors to all the hues accentuated in this summer, to help you rearrange and make additions to your wardrobe.

  1. Fierce rouge:

The bold, bright and powerful, the fierce red can’t go unnoticed. It emanates power and undoubtedly makes a statement. To make it more prominent, team it up with heavy chunky gold chains to steal the night away.

2.     The denim story:

This is the season to get you faded denim colour right. Denim on denim had been a favourite look in the 80’s and it has seen a comeback this season. Moreover, the cool shades of denim in other fabrics is making a trend this summer. This hue conveys comfort and can be teamed up with muted tones as well as bold and vibrant colours.

Shades of green doesn’t seem to leave the runway soon. In the last season it was pistachio and lime green and this season it’s cool and refreshing aqua shades of green. Wear it with shades of white, peaches and pinks to dominate the street style.

4. Feminine Pink:

If pink is your colour, take out the coral muted pink dress from your wardrobe and adorn it right with any pastel hue. In the day time, this colour looks extra cool and comfortable in cottons and linens and for your wine gatherings, you can pick the pink palette in silk, tulle or sequins.

5.    Saffron magic:

The brilliant shade of orangey-yellow adds a sunny shade to your outfit, emitting warmth. This shade has ruled the runways in the recent season in a head to toe look.

6.    Chive it up:

That’s another shade of green but it is much darker, deep and herbaceous. Chive is a great neutral yet rich hue which can be teamed up with neutral tones, blacks and even other colour of the season, saffron.

A summer trend can’t be summed up without the muted shades of whites. The spring/summer 2020 saw the whites radiating warmth and class on the runway. In a  head to toe look, experimenting with varied textures and shades, this colour is ruling the summer fashion 2020, as it has done for the centuries.
