Dhoni left Chennai after IPL 2020 is put on hold due to COVID-19

Pandemic coronavirus has possessed a serious threat all over the world and the issue is only growing with each passing day. BCCI postponed IPL matches as well to April 15 because of coronavirus keeping the health of the players and public in mind. CSK welcomed Dhoni at the Chennai airport who arrived in the city for the Indian Premier League. After the announcement of its postponed date, Dhoni bids adieu to Chennai and flies back. 

Dhoni was witnessed signing several autographs and interacting with his huge fanbase. There was a meeting held between the board and the team members on Saturday where they discussed a serious concern regarding the outbreak of coronavirus. Hence, they came to a conclusion of following the wait and watch policy. This means that they will closely observe the situation and will decide further what needs to be done. 

After hearing something positive they will decide the fate of the 13th edition of IPL. Till then, they have decided to postpone the tournament for the time period. Government has also cancelled all visas till 15th April except for a few official ones that require urgent departure to and from the country. This is all done due to the increasing wake of the coronavirus threat. 

The sports ministry has also declared serious concerns regarding the pandemic coronavirus and puts the health of the public in the first place. It makes clear that all sports events are cancelled to avoid social gatherings. If there are some events that cannot be avoided then they will be held behind closed doors to keep huge gatherings at bay. The public will not be allowed to witness the events. Dhoni has been on a break since India lost the world cup match to New Zealand last year.
