Festival of Hariyali Teej being around the corner and the building up of the festive atmosphere, Teej events are also taking place at various places in Delhi NCR. A spectacular event, Rangeelo Rajasthan Teej Utsav, is also being conducted at Golden Galaxy Hotels & Resorts, Faridabad on 22nd July. The event is devoted entirely to the lovely ladies and is the only splendid event in Faridabad with such striking and glamorous offerings!
Importance of Teej
The much-celebrated festival of Teej is celebrated for the reunion of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati as per the religious records. It is a symbol of strengthening and intensifying the relationship of married couples. On this day, married women fast for the whole day, dress up in complete avatar and perform ‘pooja’ for the long life of their husbands. Women beautify their hands with mehndi and get involved in singing and other activities. Also, Hariyali Teej marks the arrival of monsoon in India.

Teej in India
Teej is usually celebrated in Northern India and various fairs are organized on account of the same, known as Sawan Mela. All these fairs boast the traditions and specialties of different regions with stalls put up by the artisans. The main attraction of these events is ‘Sawan ke Jhooley’ in which a swing is put up for the ladies and is decorated in a beautiful manner with flowers.
All the women wear ornaments and jewelry made out of flowers. Teej is a festival of togetherness, intimacy, and attachment.

Nidhi Jindal Gupta, who has been Mrs. India, will be present for the grand event. Professionally, she is a fashion designer, but is also skilled in dancing, cooking, writing and other creative tasks. The Beauty Queen from Haryana has a vibrant personality which everybody adores.
