India is a country of diverse culture. And every indian tries to keep their culture and mother tongue intact and try to pass it on to next generation.
I must say internet plays an important role in binding us together and help us to stay connected with friends , relatives and fellow society members.
In this context I,today, wish to talk about my own native region-Mithila,an acclaimed seat of erudition,philosophical treatises and discourses and it’s rich cultural heritage intermingled with the shine of religious precepts aiming at welfare of humanity in general.
Needless to say that Mithila culture has the extraordinary quality to rationalise it’s rites as and when existing cultural arrangements turned hackneyed on account of changed value and sensibility.
Like any other culture ,we maithils are proud of our root and try to keep our mother tongue alive and our traditions intact. But as we are scattered in almost all corner of world ,and our traditions and customs ard so unique ,in past, we often end up feeling alone. But ,not now ,because thanks to internet technology we are connected with our fellow maithils . we can safely say, that we share same enthusiasm for our culture . It would certainly be imprudent if I failed to bring the stupendous contribution made by “Maithili Machaan” with around 133k members of Mithila region across the world via unique digital platform FaceBook. Undoubtedly,this Maithili Machaan had been rendering invaluable services by keeping members updated with native traditions,cultural beauty apart from developments made in the spheres of language and literature and artifacts.
Remarkably,in a situation of ongoing covid-19 driven national lockdown this linguistic and cultural platform launched online education for students to compensate teaching losses by eliciting precious services doled out by efficient teacher like shri Vishal Thakur ,to enunciate mathematics related perplexities.
On the other hand ,it ropes in expert medico man,Dr.Nishank Sekhar Thakur to enunciate disease related medicare respectively. These two programmes were huge success and received wide applaud. The main catch was ,they explained it all in Maithili.
Besides,Maithili Machaan also helped selling Mithila artifacts and promoted artists through different means.
“Maithili Machaan is a flagship programme of CSTS along with Madhubani Literature Festival organising discussions,dialogues and dissemination of concrete information relating to various facets of Mithila culture,tradition and treasure trove of literary heritage.New schemes on the platter are pilot projects for village in light of covid situation, huge reverse migration. Tieups with institutions to offer professional courses at consessional rates for helping members with career upgradation in these hard times,”said Dr. Savita Jha Khan,founder and admin of this unique digital platter,when I asked her about conception of this group.
Frankly speaking, who will deny the invaluable services being rendered by Dr. Savita jha khan’s platform has come as a great relief to maithil community in continuing distressful times to save our language and culture as well as to benefit,students,artists and disease struck persons in one go. She deserved full throated kudos and I must underline she is an epitome of enviable “creative minority”.
So, I must say that I am really glad to come across this platform which is not only helping our community but also keeping alive our culture and traditions.
