Indian shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ayonka Paul could not perform as per the expectations and lagging behind badly they got ousted from the competition. Apurvi scored 411.6 points and she stood at 34th position out of total 51 competitors. Ayonika with 403 points stood at 47th position. Li Du of China with score 420.7 points remained at top position creating an Olympic record.
There were good hopes from Apurvi and Ayonika as in 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games they won gold and bronze medals respectively for the country. 23 years old Apurvi has achieved kota to Olympic by standing at number three in the 2015 ISSF(International Shooting Sports Federation) world cup held at Changwon in Korea.
